International Physical Therapy Academy Appointed Offices Policy

The IPTA appoints Appointed offices to serve as liaisons between the IPTA and physiotherapy professionals in their respective countries.

They are typically physiotherapists (Individuals) or Entities who are passionate about promoting the profession and advancing its standards.

Appointed Offices play a vital role in disseminating information, organizing events, and facilitating networking opportunities within their regions.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of an International Physical Therapy Academy (IPTA) Appointed Office include:

4.1. Communication and Liaison:

Act as a point of contact between the IPTA and physiotherapy professionals within their country or region.

Disseminate information about IPTA initiatives, events, and resources to relevant individuals and organizations.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between physiotherapy professionals within their country and the broader IPTA community.

4.2. Advocacy and Promotion:

Promote the mission, goals, and activities of IPTA within their country or region.

Advocate for the local recognition of IPTA activities.

4. 3. Networking and Collaboration:

Facilitate networking opportunities among physiotherapy professionals within their country or region.

Encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange by organizing local meetings, workshops, or conferences.

Identify and foster partnerships with relevant organizations, institutions, or stakeholders to advance the profession.

Assist in connecting individuals with educational opportunities, scholarships, or professional development programs provided by IPTA.

4.4. Representation and Participation:

Attend IPTA meetings, conferences, or events as a representative of their country or region for IPTA.

Contribute to discussions, share insights, and bring forward the perspectives and needs of physiotherapy professionals within their country.

Actively participate in IPTA initiatives, committees, or working groups to contribute to the advancement of physiotherapy education and practice globally.

4.5. Coordination of Activities:

Arranging, promoting, handling official documentation, and overseeing IPTA events.

Securing necessary approvals from local authorities.

Any extra tasks assigned by IPTA.

Rights & Privileges:

5.1. Representation:

The opportunity to voice the perspectives, needs, and interests of physiotherapy professionals within their country during IPTA discussions.

5.2. Access to Information:

The right to receive timely and relevant information about IPTA initiatives, events, resources, and updates.

Access to educational materials, research findings, and publications shared by the IPTA.

5.3. Collaboration and Networking:

The right to participate in networking opportunities within the IPTA community.

The opportunity to collaborate with physiotherapy professionals from different countries, exchange knowledge, and foster professional relationships.

5.4. Professional Development:

The right to access professional development opportunities facilitated by the IPTA, such as conferences, workshops, and educational programs.

Access to resources and support for their own professional growth and advancement.

5.5. Engagement and Involvement:

The right to actively engage in IPTA initiatives, committees, or working groups.

The opportunity to contribute ideas, insights, and expertise to shape the direction and activities of the IPTA.

5.6. Recognition and Appreciation:

The right to be recognized and appreciated for their contributions as an IPTA Appointed Office / Office director.

Acknowledgment of their efforts in promoting the profession, fostering collaboration, and advancing physiotherapy education and practice within their country or region.

Authorities:

6.1. The authority to enter into local agreements and partnerships on behalf of the IPTA, facilitating local expansion.

6.2.Organize local activities under the umbrella of the IPTA to leverage relationships and expand program outreach.

6.3. Collect various financial fees on behalf of the IPTA, enhancing financial stability, streamlining payment processes for participants, and securing additional financial benefits for the AOs.

6.4. Establish advertising channels through various media platforms,representing the IPTA and the respective country. This includes utilizing the local language for broader outreach.

6.5. Active participation in decision-making processes regarding the IPTA's future, recognizing AOs as integral components of the IPTA's administrative structure.

6.6. Opportunities for participation, promotion, and advancement from AOs to the main executive board or other IPTA administrative structure based on specific standards.

6.7. Issue certain communications and correspondence in the name of the IPTA for presentation to local authorities if needed upon acceptance from the IPTA board.

6.8. The option to establish a physical office within the respective countries to oversee operations.

6.9. Chance to host the IPTA's international events, such as conferences and meetings as well as the HQ offices.

6.10. Directly leveraging the international and regional connections established by the IPTA, empowering these AOs to enhance their local operations.

General Articles:

7.1.The precise rights and privileges may be further defined by the IPTA and may change depending on the policies and regulations of the IPTA.

7.2.Although IPTA prefers one Appointed Office per country, there is nothing preventing more than one office from taking part, depending on what the IPTA board decides.

7.3.There are no conflicts between IPTA AOs positions and other positions, and no leave of absence from work is required.

7.4.In case of any conflict between the articles of this policy and any other regulation, the articles of this policy shall prevail.

7.5. Prospective candidates wishing to join the IPTA as an Appointed Offices must submit an expression of interest, followed by completion of the application form.

7.6.Completing the application form does not guarantee acceptance of the applicant for the position.

7.7.The authority and final decision in selecting applicants lie with the CEO.

7.8. Upon approval of the candidate, a certificate of appointment to the Appointed Office is issued promptly, along with a press release.

7.9.The duration of the candidate's appointment is specified in the appointment certificate, determined by the executive board in accordance with its internal policies.

7.10. Upon expiry, the board has the right to renew the appointment for the same candidate or accept another candidate.

7.11.The CEO and executive board reserve the right to terminate (revoke) the appointment of the appointed office without prior notice, without any obligations towards the IPTA.

7.12.The appointed office shall return any IPTA-owned properties in its possession to the IPTA or to the designated recipient determined by the academy for retrieval.

7.13.The IPTA settles any financial obligations owed to the appointed office upon termination of their appointment (those previously due and unpaid).

8. Nomination Conditions for the Appointed Office Position: These conditions include the following:

8.1.The candidate must be present during their appointment period in the specified country (for individuals), or the entity must be officially registered according to the laws of the concerned country (for institutions). Holding the nationality of the country to which the appointed office pertains is not a requirement (for individuals). It is also not required that the applicant be affiliated with the field of physical therapy (institution).

9.2.Full commitment and willingness to achieve the IPTA's goals and work with it to deliver and organize its programs for the country.

9.3.The absence of any conflict between the IPTA's work and any other activities undertaken by the applicant (individuals or institutions) conflicting with either party.

A) Board: Executive board of IPTA.

C) Academy: The International Physical Therapy Academy IPTA.

D) CEO: The Chief Executive Officer of IPTA.

E) AO: Appointed Office of the International Physical Therapy Academy IPTA.

F) CAO: The Chief Administrative Officer of IPTA.
