1. Introduction: The Safeguarding Learners Policy of the International Physical Therapy Academy (IPTA) outlines the commitment to creating a safe and secure learning environment for all learners involved in IPTA's activities and services. 2. Definition of Safeguarding: Safeguarding refers to the proactive measures taken to protect learners from any form of harm, abuse, or neglect. It encompasses a range of actions aimed at preventing risks, identifying and reporting concerns, and providing appropriate support to learners.
3. Responsibilities: IPTA acknowledges that the responsibility for safeguarding learners is shared among all individuals involved in its activities and services. The following responsibilities are outlined:
A - IPTA Staff: Staff members are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe learning environment, recognizing signs of abuse or neglect, and reporting concerns to the designated safeguarding officer.
B - Learners: Learners are encouraged to report any concerns or incidents of harm, abuse, or neglect they experience or witness to the appropriate IPTA staff member or safeguarding officer.
C - Safeguarding Officer: IPTA designates a safeguarding officer who is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the safeguarding policy, providing guidance and support, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken in response to concerns.
4. Prevention and Education: IPTA takes a proactive approach to prevent harm and promote the well-being of learners. This includes:

B - Prompt Reporting: IPTA encourages all staff members and learners to report concerns or incidents promptly to the designated point of contact.
C - Investigation and Support: The safeguarding officer conducts thorough investigations into reported concerns, ensuring the involvement of relevant authorities, if necessary. IPTA provides appropriate support to learners affected by safeguarding concerns.
